Tye, a woman with locs wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans shopping for books in a bookstore, carrying a pink otote with a cartoon face, and holding a book in her left hand while selecting books from the shelf with her right hand.

Hi, I’m Tye.

I’m a storyteller, reader, and community-builder who believes books are more than just something you finish, rather something you live with.

I created this space as a home for Black stories, thoughtful conversations, and the kind of reading life that feels expansive, not exclusive.

Here, you’ll find a little bit of everything:
– honest book reviews that feel like voice notes from your favorite cousin
– curated book club experiences (both virtual and in-person)
– indie author spotlights

I care deeply about stories that center us. Whether they’re messy, achingly beautiful, or full of bad choices. But especially the ones that don’t try to be palatable.

When I’m not reading or writing, I’m probably outside romanticizing my life, planning the next book club meetup, experimenting with film photography, or convincing myself I can be both deeply rested and read 500 books while trying every new restaurant this week.

This space is for the readers who annotate their books, talk back to characters, and need a minute after the last page.

Welcome. I’m really glad you’re here.
